Used by the governing British monarch, the Coat of Arms has undergone various changes throughout the years. shown on this coin Making its first appearance on the currency in the 14th century, the royal coat of arms is now used by Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II. 

The obverse of the coin showcases the royal bust of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark. The Queen’s head faces towards the right, adorned with her royal crown and elegant jewelry. 

The reverse, designed by Timothy Noad, displays the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. A lion and unicorn are shown leaping out from behind a shield. The shield exhibits the emblem representing the nations of the United Kingdom. The rampant lion represents Scotland, the harp represents Ireland, and the three lions represent England. The phrase ‘Dieu et mon droit’ (‘God and my right’) is inscribed underneath the lion and unicorn.
