The first official Royal Arms of England dates back more than 800 years to the reign of the second Plantagenet King of England. King Richard I, better known as Richard the Lionheart, reigned for a decade at the close of the 12^th century and is responsible for the adoption of the first official Royal Arms of the kingdom.

Each 2020 1 oz British Silver Royal Arms Coin available to you here today comes with an individual protective plastic flip for purchases of single coins. If you purchase multiples, you will find them offered in mint tubes of 25 coins or Monster Boxes of 500 coins containing a total of 20 tubes. All coins are available as Brilliant Uncirculated specimens.

Prior to the rule of King Richard I, his father King Henry II and other previous Anglo-Saxon and Danish kings used lions in the heraldry. This included the various Anglo-Saxon and Danish kingdoms, as well as the eventual unified English kingdom as established by Alfred the Great. However, Richard I is credited with adopting the Three Lions design that is now recognized globally as a central piece of the Royal Arms of the English monarch.

Queen Elizabeth II is featured on the obverse of all 2020 1 oz British Silver Royal Arms Coins. This right-profile bust of the Queen was developed in 2015 by Jody Clark, the youngest artist ever to create a monarchs bust for the Royal Mint of England. In this design, Her Majesty wears the George IV State Diadem Crown.

Timothy Noad designed the modern depiction of the Royal Arms of England featured on the reverse of these 2020 1 oz British Silver Royal Arms Coin. The Crowned Lion of England supports the shield to the left, while the Unicorn of Scotland supports it on the right. The quartered shield is crowned and features within its quadrants the Three Lions of England in the first and fourth positions, with the Lion of Scotland in the second position and the Harp of Ireland in the third position.

The $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin was designed by artist, Christian Gobrecht. The obverse of the coin features his neoclassical rendition of the traditional Lady Liberty portrait. In this Greco-Roman inspired image, Lady Liberty appears in profile with her thick curls elegantly arranged beneath an inscribed crown. Framing her beautiful portrait is a border of thirteen stars to symbolize the original thirteen colonies. They are accompanied by the coin’s mintage year, which is engraved directly beneath the portrait.

Proudly embossed unto the reverse side of the coin is Gobrecht interpretation of the Heraldic Eagle, which features the national bird, armed with a shield, an olive branch and a set of arrows. The coin’s denomination and year of mintage have been engraved along the outer edge of the coin for reference.

Americas Golden Age of coining may have come in the early 20^th century, but many of its 19^th century coins feature Neoclassical styles that investors and collectors enjoy. What makes these coins even more desirable is their status as Pre-1933 gold coins that survived a government collection and meltdown.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered the collection and melting of all gold coins in circulation starting in 1933. The effort was designed to bolster American reserves in the face of the economic turmoil of the Great Depression. Surviving coins, like these Pre-1933 $2.50 Liberty Gold Quarter Eagles, are extremely rare and limited in supply.

The coins in this product listing were struck between 1840 and 1907. At this time, the United States Mint attempted to maintain consistent designs in all of its gold coins. The Lady Liberty and bald eagle designs on this coin were similar to these and 1839 half-eagles.

On the reverse side of each coin is Lady Liberty's left-profile portrait. She is shown with her hair back in a bun and a crown atop her head. The word Liberty is engraved in the crown, with 13 stars around her bust to represent Americas founding colonies.

The obverse features the original heraldic eagle. With a shield on its chest, the eagle holds arrows and an olive branch in its talons. United States of America is engraved around it, with the face value inscribed below as 2 D. Christian Gobrect designed the images on each side of the coin.

The United States Mint produced these coins at its Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, Charlotte, and Dahlonega Mints. These coins are available in brilliant uncirculated condition, with no trace of wear. There is a possibility the coins will show contact marks, spotted surfaces, or breaks in luster.
